Army Painter Base Primer - Matt Black (400ml)

The most reliable black undercoat going. Deep, dead-matt and heavy on coverage, it leaves every model in perfect nick for the paint on top — no shine, no clogged detail, no fuss. If you only ever own one primer, make it this one.

Why it's good

• Dead-matt finish that takes acrylics beautifully
• Primes and undercoats a whole unit in one pass
• Even, fine coverage that preserves detail
• The safe default for shading and darker schemes

Spray it, leave it to dry, and you're straight onto the fun bit.

The one primer every painter should own. Follow up with a Basecoating Brush and a Quickshade wash to pull the detail out.
