Black Purple sits right at the edge between purple and black — too deep to read as violet, too warm to read as pure shadow. That makes it brilliant for the bits other purples can't reach: the recessed folds of a Chaos warband's robes, the sunken shadow under a gem, or as a base coat you'll never need to darken further.

Best for

• Shadowing purple and violet armour trim without losing the hue
• Drukhari skin and dark leathers
• Night-sky basing and moody diorama backdrops

Lay it as a base and glaze brighter purples over the top, or use it neat as your darkest value — either way it saves you mixing black into your purples and killing the colour.
